About the role
The Recreation Specialist (Roller Hockey Referee) is responsible for supervising youth and adult hockey games, enforcing rules, maintaining order, assessing penalties, and providing customer service.
Responsibilities
- Enforce the rules of inline hockey as developed by USA Roller Sports (USARS).
- Assess game penalties for violations of the rules and enforce fair play, including ejecting players who violate policies.
- Provide accurate reporting and statistics to the scorekeeper.
- Inspect and approve safety equipment for players.
- Explain rules when requested.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with players, coaches, spectators, and others.
- Handle emergencies and injuries during games.
- Perform other game-related duties as assigned.
- Attend meetings and trainings to develop professional skills.
Requirements
- Knowledge of inline roller hockey rules.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Ability to obtain current First Aid/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire.
Qualifications
- Age 16 or older.
- Ability to obtain a current First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of inline roller hockey rules.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Pay
Budgeted starting hourly rate is $25.60.
Schedule
Anticipated schedule is Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m.
