About the Role
The City of Marinette is seeking an organized, energetic, and community-minded individual to join our Recreation team as a Recreation Program Coordinator. This position plays an important role in coordinating recreation programs, activities, and special events while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Recreation Center. If you enjoy working with people, coordinating activities, keeping things organized, and helping create positive recreational experiences for the community, this may be a great opportunity for you. The successful candidate should be able to communicate well, manage multiple responsibilities, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, implement, and supervise recreation programs and activities, including the Summer Day Camp program
- Assist with hiring program staff; schedule work hours, assign duties, provide training, and supervise staff
- Work with community groups, volunteers, participants, parents, and the public
- Assist with bookkeeping, budgeting, and other administrative responsibilities
- Coordinate the use of Recreation facilities and equipment
- Promote recreation programs, activities, and events within the community
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Recreation-related or similar experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on Recreation Center needs
- Valid driver’s license
Pay
The 2026 hourly pay for this position is $21.73 - $25.57/hour. This position is eligible for the annual COLA pending City Council approval.
Schedule
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position. The schedule may be adjusted at times to include evenings, weekends, or other non-standard hours based on programs and activities.
