Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Basecamp Ski Shop, rentals, and related recreational facilities.
  • Develop and implement ski/snowboard activities and programs that enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintain high visibility in recreational facilities, engaging with guests and employees ensuring service standards.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate Basecamp staff.
  • Track departmental performance metrics, guest feedback, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Review daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of V.I.P’s and return guests, groups, etc.
  • Enforce all health, safety, and resort policies related to Basecamp operations.
  • Manage the department budget, including payroll, labor, expenses, and revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with other departments (Front Desk, Concierge, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Security) to ensure seamless operations.
  • Resolve guest complaints, troubleshoot issues, and interact with guests in a positive manner.
  • Assist in administration duties such as scheduling, payroll, ordering, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews.
  • Have detailed knowledge of the Jackson area including leisure activities, sightseeing tours, and attractions. Provide information about Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, other local ski hills, ticketing, reservations, and conditions.

Position is seasonal for Winter 2026-2027 season.

Qualifications

  • Recreation Manager candidates must be motivated and have a positive attitude.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role in recreation or leisure within a luxury resort or hospitality environment.
  • Expertise in skiing or snowboarding required.
  • Previous ski and retail shop, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Flexible schedule required in order to accomplish all major responsibilities. This includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • This position requires the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Legal work authorization in the United States.
