Recreation Leader II (PACC - Senior Center)

About the role

The City of Escondido is seeking a dynamic individual to join its dedicated team delivering exceptional services and support to the senior community. As a Recreation Leader II at the Park Avenue Community Center—the hub of Escondido Senior Services that also offers community‑based programs for all ages after 3:00 p.m.—you will serve as front‑counter staff, engaging with the public, providing outstanding customer service, and assisting with the daily operations of the center.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of the Community Services Supervisor, assist customers in front counter operations including but not limited to activity registration, answering phones/emails, handling payments, preparing room/auditorium set‑ups, and general office duties.
• Assist City staff, outside agencies, and the general public regarding all community programs offered by the City of Escondido.
• Monitor all activities occurring in the facility to assure the safety and security of the public and staff.
• Provide excellent customer service via phone, email, and in person.
• Handle all emergencies, incidents, and/or injuries.
• Promote programs and events to customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 18 years of age at the time of employment
• High school graduate or equivalent
• First Aid and CPR Certification completed within the first 3 months of employment
