Duties
- Assist with the operation of the pool, oversees the work of assigned lifeguards & monitors compliance with facility policies.
- Affords assistance with the scheduling of employees.
- Operates the pool, its filtration system, water balance, pool chemistry and performs water tests under the direction of the pool supervisor.
- Employ safety rules for the protection of guests.
- Rescue swimmers and administer first aid as required.
- Conducts aquatic swimming and water survival training according to ATP 7-22.01 as of October 2020.
- Attends aquatics and/or safety training as directed.
- Maintains the pool and area clean and hazard-free.
- Provides information to swimmers regarding safety rules and procedures.
- Tactfully warns patrons who repeatedly disregard safety rules and follows facility Standard Operating Procedures for disciplinary actions.
- Assists in coaching or preparing the competitive and non-competitive swimming programs as required.
- Issues towels and checks identification as required.
- Maintains daily logs and records as required.
Requirements
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required upon appointment.
- Satisfactory completion of employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- One year probationary period may be required.
- A physical examination may be required.
- Must be able to obtain a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays and various hours of the day and week when required.
Qualifications

- Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities (KSAs) as they pertain to this position.
- A qualified candidate must possess and UPLOAD the following certificates when applying:
- American Red Cross "Lifeguard" certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification).
- American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional Rescuer" (CPR-Pro) certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Ellis & Associates (CPR) Certification).
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain an American Red Cross "Automated External Defibrillator" (AED) certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates AED certification.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain an American Red Cross "Oxygen Administration" certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates Oxygen Administration certification within two weeks of employment.
