Job Summary

NHC Place at the Trace is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Recreation Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a CTRS preference, a high school diploma or GED, and possess strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • CTRS preferred, but not required
  • High school degree or GED
  • Ability to work with elderly patients/residents
  • Willingness to learn new ideas and skills
  • A sense of humor; ability to laugh at success and failure
  • Positive attitude and a good team player
  • Patient, organized, assertive, conscientious, self-sufficient, and creative
  • Professional appearance
  • Flexible in working hours for weekends or evenings

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respectful and supportive to supervisor
  • Assist and support the Recreation Director in assessing each patient's activity interests and needs
  • Provide therapeutic programs tailored to each patient's individual needs
  • Offer activities that address physical, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs
  • Support good public relations with the community and partners
  • Aware of NHC Standards and abide by the 20 Better Way Promises
  • Aware of and follow HIPAA regulations
  • Aware of and follow weekly work schedule
  • Aware of and follow State and Federal guidelines
  • Support and participate in center newsletter and fundraising projects
  • Attend and support in-services and partner meetings
  • Follow all State, Federal, Company, and Center Requirements, Policies, and Procedures
