About the role

The Recreation / Activities Assistant at NHC Hendersonville is responsible for developing and implementing a well-rounded wellness program for Long Term Care, Memory Care or Rehab patients as assigned, including weekends and holidays. Duties also include timely completion of assessments, care plans, and associated paperwork, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines, and bringing 'fun' to the residents.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines regarding programming
  • Bringing 'fun' to the residents
  • Completing assessments, care plans, and associated paperwork
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Self-motivated, creative with a positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm
  • Ability to work with family members, partners, and the community
  • High School Diploma or GED

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have a desire to work with seniors, be compassionate, caring, and creative. They should have knowledge of the domains of wellness as it relates to programming in long-term care and possess strong communication and time management skills. Basic typing and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Publisher for producing monthly calendars and newsletters, are required.
