About the role
Works under close supervision wherein the work is closely reviewed/monitored and detailed guidance provided. Must participate in all required training (emergency rescue drills, emergency action plan simulations).
Responsibilities
- Participate in aquatic swimming and water survival training.
- Assist in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training.
- Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training.
- May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements.
- Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity.
- May be required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period.
- Lifeguard trainees must have good vision (corrected vision if necessary) while on duty to effectively recognize all emergencies, incidents and rule breaking.
Requirements
- Conditions of employment: Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. One-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactory completion of an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Failure to complete the required certification will result in removal from employment. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation. Additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children. Must have current health assessment that documents good physical health, and free from communicable disease IAW current Army Policy. Be able to obtain within 30 days and maintain the following certifications: Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED from a nationally recognized agency. For facilities that use Oxygen Administration "02 bottles" the 02 Administration certification (American Red Cross "Oxygen Administration" or installation offered training (i.e. Fire Dept.) must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty. All required certifications must obtained within specified time and kept current.
- Qualifications: Must be able to swim and participate in the lifeguard certifications.

Benefits
- Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials: This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
Schedule
Work hours are Thursday through Monday from 10am until 5pm. Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays.
