Recreation Aid - Golf

This position is located at Trident Lakes Golf Course, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, GA. The role supports MWR special events, information/resources, command events, community events, outings, party and picnic rental equipment, Liberty, leisure skill classes, and outdoor recreation or similar MWR recreational services.

Must be able to work primarily a closing shift, 1200–2000.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned duties and provides necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information and support of recreation and fitness programs.
• Provides information concerning facilities and operations; ensures adherence to regulations, safety, and security procedures.
• May assist in maintaining routine reports and/or performs clerical, custodial, and/or general maintenance duties.
• Supports recreation and fitness program delivery, including inventory control, equipment inspection, restocking, point of sale system operation, and cash handling.
• Operates a cash register, Point of Sale (POS) system, processes transactions (equipment loan, rentals, resale, program registration), receives payments, and makes change.
• Greets patrons in person, answers telephone calls, takes messages, handles customer requests, and makes referrals to appropriate staff.
• Adheres to NAVMED P-5010 sanitation requirements.
• Provides support for recreation event setup and breakdown.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successfully complete a background investigation using fingerprint identification and background inquiry forms.
• Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check; discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
• Must complete Personal Identity Verification (PIV) using two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
• A valid State driver’s license is required to operate motor vehicles.
• Must have salary sent to a financial institution via Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Work may involve periods of standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must be C.A.R.E (Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively) trained, hold an Emergency First Responder (EFR) or CPR First Aid certification, and hold a current Food Handler certification—or obtain these within 90 days.
• May work at multiple Community Recreation facilities in both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of the hiring base (address on resume and USAJOBS will be verified).
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (0–40 hours per week).

Qualifications

• Resumes must demonstrate experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) relevant to the position; applicants should be clear and specific about their experience level.
• General experience of 0–3 months and/or a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of the MWR department to answer customer questions or refer customers appropriately.
• Skilled in keyboarding, including operation of point of sale systems and desktop computers.
• Ability to perform basic computer operations, read and comprehend rules/regulations, and follow standard operating procedures.
• Ability to perform basic custodial tasks (e.g., sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping, dusting).
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to identify customer needs, deliver expected service, and resolve routine customer issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Credit is given for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part-time work; duties and hours per week must be clearly identified.
