The Role
The Recovery Specialist I position at Horizon Services, Inc. (HSI) is a key role at the Sobering Center. This position involves monitoring and observing client behavior and activity to ensure safety, creating a welcoming environment, and providing assistance with transportation and emergency response.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safety and stability for clients through observation rounds and client behavior monitoring.
- Create and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all clients.
- Coordinate the administration of the VI-SPDAT assessment.
- Provide assistance with transportation and emergency response.
- Conduct screenings for participant needs and readiness for change.
- Ensure clients are safely stabilizing during observation rounds.
- Trained in crisis de-escalation.
Requirements
- Years of client monitoring experience working directly with SUD populations (RS I) 0-1 year, (RS II) 1-2 years, (RS III) 2+ years.
- Pursue accredited peer support certification or be certified peer specialist with New Mexico.
- Must have a NM driver’s license and a good driving record in good standing.
- Fluency in at least one of New Mexico threshold languages (Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Dari, Arabic, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, and Diné (Navajo)).

Pay
$16-$20 hourly based on experience and qualifications. Available for a full-time position.
