About the role

The Peer Recovery Specialist provides peer-to-peer recovery support services under the supervision of the Executive Director of Clinical Services. Duties include developing individualized recovery action plans, educating individuals on navigating treatment and recovery support systems, and assisting individuals in achieving their recovery goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized recovery action plans with measurable objectives.
  • Educate individuals on treatment and recovery support systems.
  • Support individuals through the stages of change to encourage recovery.
  • Aid individuals in accessing community recovery support services.
  • Collaborate with case managers to ensure engagement in services and transition to higher levels of care.
  • Maintain relationships to support treatment engagement and retention.
  • Provide recovery support services based on individual preferences and needs.
  • Empower individuals to make self-directed choices about their recovery pathway.
  • Offer support through face-to-face and telephone sessions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS) credential.
  • Two years of lived experience in recovery.
  • Knowledge of local recovery community and social services.
  • Bilingual proficiency, Spanish preferred.
