About the role
The railway has seen nearly 200 years of technology and innovation. As part of the Digital, Data, and Technology (DDaT) directorate, you will enable customers and industry partners with modern and transformative technology. From day-to-day IT operations to extensive delivery programmes reshaping the railway, technology is the catalyst for progress in an ever-demanding industry.
Responsibilities
- Manage the movement of records and data, tracking documentation to and from the Records Centre to ensure accuracy and accountability
- Maintain and update records systems, ensuring data within electronic records management systems is accurate, complete, and up to date
- Produce reports on record status, providing clear insights into availability, location, and tracking of documentation
- Investigate and resolve missing or unavailable records, liaising with stakeholders and reporting on outcomes
- Provide access to records and information, including prints, source documents, and CAD files, ensuring timely and secure delivery
- Maintain reference libraries and archives, supporting easy retrieval and consistent organisation of records
- Carry out general administrative duties, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the Records Centre
- Support records configuration and control, including drawing numbers, version control, and document formats
- Offer guidance on records processes and standards, helping colleagues comply with company and industry requirements
- Identify and suggest process improvements, contributing to more efficient and effective records management practices

Qualifications
- Educated to "A" Levels or relevant experience (nice to have)
- Basic understanding of engineering technology (nice to have)
- Customer service experience (nice to have)
- Experience of using electronic document management systems (nice to have)
- CAD experience (nice to have)
- Records management experience (nice to have)
Pay
Band 6, £25,409 per annum.
Schedule
- 35 hours per week
- Part-time or flexible working can be considered
- During your training period, you would need to be office based
