Records Analyst
Position closes Friday, August 28th, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. This position reports to the Records Processing Supervisor and is located at the Columbus General Office in Columbus, Nebraska.
About the Role
The Records Analyst receives, prepares, and processes records/documents and drawings. Responsibilities include determining records retention requirements, analyzing and indexing pertinent information to ensure accurate future retrieval, and converting hardcopy documents to electronic files using production scanners. The role also involves operating various types of image/micrographics production and test equipment, as well as providing administrative support for the corporate records retention program.
Responsibilities
- Receive and prepare records for additional processing and provide records management assistance to engineering, technical, and administrative staff throughout the District.
- Assign proper retention codes to records, provide guidance, and answer questions related to the records retention program.
- Analyze and index technical and administrative records/documents and drawings by extracting pertinent information and entering data into databases or performing quality assurance reviews on data entered by others.
- Process and perform quality assurance reviews for new and updated drawings, design changes, and vendor manuals; resolve any issues concerning these processes.
- Maintain, update, and control safeguards and NERC-related drawings, microfilm, and hardcopy files.
- Operate image/micrographics equipment such as scanners, roll film/aperture card duplicators, film processors, rotary/planetary cameras, test equipment, and aperture card mounting equipment.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair darkroom/micrographics equipment, including performing preventive and operational maintenance of hardware and replacing worn parts not under a service contract.
- Inspect processed microfilm through testing for density, residual chemicals, image resolution, and perform archival film (methylene blue) tests to ensure compliance with industry and manufacturer standards.
- Travel to various District locations to provide outage and non-outage support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two-year degree in a Business/Management-related field and one year of experience in one or more areas listed under Essential Duties and Responsibilities, or a high school diploma and two or more years of relevant experience.
- NERC Cyber Security Clearance – Safeguards Clearance (depends on specific functions performed).

Pay
Monthly starting salary range: $4,184.00 – $5,126.00 (Pay Grade 8). Successful applicants may also be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program (AIP), which may supplement total compensation.
Schedule
Travel required: Up to 25% (typically within Nebraska, with minimal or no overnight stays—fewer than 3 per month). Travel requirements may fluctuate based on business needs.
