Reconstruction Technician

About the Role

RestoreCore is hiring a skilled Reconstruction Technician to complete repairs at residential and commercial properties following water, fire, storm, and other property damage. This hands-on construction role is ideal for someone with experience in carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, cabinets, tile, or general home repairs. You will work closely with Project Managers, lead crews and subcontractors, and help move reconstruction projects from initial repairs through final completion.

Responsibilities

  • Complete reconstruction and repair work according to project scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Perform finish carpentry, trim work, drywall repair, painting, flooring, tile, and cabinet installation
  • Complete basic plumbing and electrical repairs within the position’s scope
  • Review work orders and identify the labor, tools, and materials needed
  • Lead field crews and coordinate subcontractors at active construction sites
  • Conduct jobsite inspections and verify that work meets quality standards
  • Maintain control of the jobsite from project start through completion
  • Order materials and coordinate work with project schedules
  • Create and complete punch lists to close out projects
  • Assist Project Managers with permits, customer selections, agreements, and project documentation
  • Meet with customers to review progress, answer questions, and set expectations
  • Upload photos, notes, documents, and work orders in DASH
  • Support water and fire damage restoration projects during periods of increased volume
  • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, tools, and safe jobsite conditions
  • Participate in overtime or emergency on-call work when business needs increase

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in reconstruction, remodeling, restoration, general construction, or property repairs
  • Experience with several trades, including carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, tile, or cabinet installation
  • Ability to read work orders, follow scopes of work, and keep projects on schedule
  • Experience leading crews or coordinating subcontractors is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills
  • Professional communication with homeowners, property managers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Ability to document job progress using photos, notes, and project management software
  • OSHA 10 certification is preferred
  • IICRC WRT and FSRT certifications are preferred or must be obtained within the first year of employment
  • Ability to complete required PPE training and respirator fit testing
  • Willingness to work overtime or assist with emergency response when needed

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This is an active, hands-on position requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, reaching, and use of hand and power tools. Employees must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds. Work is performed at active residential and commercial construction sites. Conditions may include dust, debris, noise, damaged building materials, extreme heat or cold, and the required use of personal protective equipment.
