Receptionists/Concierge

About the role

The receptionist is responsible for providing information and referral to residents, visitors, staff, and prospective clients in a positive, service-oriented manner. The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic clerical skills (typing, filing, light bookkeeping), and the ability to work in an environment with multiple interruptions. A pleasant nature and a willingness and desire to work with the elderly are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and referral to residents, visitors, staff, and prospective clients
• Maintain a positive, service-oriented manner
• Perform basic clerical duties: typing, filing, light bookkeeping
• Handle multiple interruptions professionally

Requirements

• Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills
• Proficiency in typing and ten-key adding machine
• Ability to function as a team member
• Good interpersonal skills with all levels of staff, residents, families, and the public
• Basic clerical skills (typing, filing, light bookkeeping)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Pleasant nature and desire to work with the elderly
• Ability to sit for extended periods
• Occasional lifting of 1–20 pounds
• Ability to walk throughout facility as needed
• Visual acuity and good hearing
• Potential for exposure to blood/body fluids not likely (universal precautions)
