About the role
A day in the life of a Receptionist & Switchboard Operator: At Samaritans Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other and our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. In the role of Receptionist & Switchboard Operator, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
- Answer phones, proactively interacting with callers in a warm, professional and positive manner, fielding general questions, and taking requests for information
- Determine the callers' needs and route the call to the appropriate person or department
- Receive guests, vendors and other visitors, making them welcome and creating a positive work environment
- Assist guests, vendors and salespersons with Electronic Visitor Registration
- Assist tour participants by maintaining contact with tour guides and facilitating timely staff response to group needs
- Assists with administrative duties as assigned
- During emergencies, assist with communications to Facilities, Security or Emergency Services
- Follows procedures for accepting donations of all kinds from visitors on campus
- Maintain an orderly and neat reception area at all times
- Conduct tours of the Wilkes Office and Warehouse as needed
- Contact donors by phone to communicate appreciation for their gifts and minister to their prayer concerns
- Send notes, emails and letters to in follow-up to telephone calls, or when no one was reached by telephone
- Have a working knowledge of the database system. Record each donor contact and tend to basic account maintenance issues
- Complete tour functions, drafting correspondence and creating gift bags and ordering materials for them

Requirements
- Associates degree plus two (2) to four (4) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small and or large group situations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Qualifications & Experience

Pay
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
