About the role

Contributes to the organization by overseeing the various tasks of the front desk at 5211 FM 2920, Ste 102 Spring, TX 77388. Some travel to the nearby Kingwood location may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior patient care services, treating all patients and guests with compassion and respect.
  • Greet all patients and guests with a smile and helpful manner.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, guests, colleagues, and physicians.
  • Provide patients with necessary instructions or directions.
  • Process patient documentation and update patient demographics accurately.
  • Triage incoming calls promptly and in a pleasant manner.
  • Review all phone messages, return calls timely, and/or direct messages to the appropriate person.
  • Verify insurance and determine if prior authorizations or referrals are required for upcoming appointments.
  • Close-out daily batches promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized waiting room and work area.
  • Travel to surrounding HEA offices to provide front desk coverage when needed.
  • Adhere to HEA’s policies and procedures, uphold the highest ethical principles, and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Comply with all State and Federal regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business operational needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of office experience; two (2) years of medical office experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.
  • Work is performed in an office environment and may be stressful at times.
  • Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.
  • Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
