About the role
The Receptionist is expected to represent the company in a positive manner while greeting visitors, answering telephones, and directing calls. This employee also provides clerical support to staff as needed.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming and direct incoming calls.
- Greet and direct visitors and family members.
- Maintain current patient listing to be able to direct visitors and phone calls.
- Direct walk-in applicants to electronic application process.
- Organize work to be addressed by receptionist on other shifts.
- Ensure vendors and visitors sign in and out.
- Ensure residents sign in and out of the facility as required per policy.
- Provide clerical support for the Administrator and other staff, as directed.
- Adhere to confidentiality requirements.
- Announce emergency codes and instructions over public address system as required.
- Enter demographic information into the Electronic Medical Record, as directed by the Administrator.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident in all interactions.
- Know emergency and disaster procedures of the facility.
- Demonstrate respect for co-workers and respond to needs of residents by complying with facility policies.
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks/responsibilities and complete duties within allotted time.
- Ability to carry out the essential functions of this job (with or without reasonable accommodation).
- Assure participation in relevant in-service training sessions.
- Attend and participate in facility meetings, as assigned.
- Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Typing proficiency of 50-60 words per minute.
- Computer skills are required.
- Meets state and federal criminal background check requirements.
