Responsibilities

The Oncology Clinic Coordinator provides efficient, timely, and courteous registration and scheduling services to ensure a high level of customer service and smooth clinic operations. This position greets and assists patients, families, and visitors, directs clinic telephone calls, and provides and promotes the rapid and efficient scheduling of patient appointments, including infusion treatments, maintaining accurate provider schedules to support optimal patient flow. Additionally, the coordinator admits and registers patients for both hospital and outpatient accounts, verifies insurance eligibility and benefits, accurately maintains patient records, and accurately enters and dates patient information electronically as needed. Acting as an advocate and navigator, the coordinator assists patients in accessing services and ensures a seamless handoff to clinical staff, contributing to a positive and professional patient experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Three (3) months experience in a receptionist or administrative support capacity
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Previous front office medical reception experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Bilingual in Spanish
