Receptionist II

This position is responsible for greeting patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner, ensuring all appropriate forms are complete and accurate, and serving as a liaison between patients and medical staff.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
- Obtain all appropriate forms as required, including demographic and insurance information.
- Obtain copies of patient's insurance cards and current driver's license for files.
- Update demographic and insurance information in the system as needed.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket amounts at the time of visit.
- Perform end-of-day financial close-out and ensure all collections are accounted for and balanced with the deposit report.
- Maintain lobby and coffee area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Identify no-shows and forward for patient notification process.
- Demonstrate an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
- Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
- Cover for other front office functions as requested.
- Prepare correspondence, memos, forms, and other typing as requested by supervisor.
- Perform all other duties/responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
- Minimum three (3) years of customer service in an office setting.
- Previous medical office experience is preferred.
Physical Demands
- Regularly: sit, grasp, reach, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally: stand, bend, stoop/crouch, walk, lift up to 30 pounds, pull/push up to 30 pounds, and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Vision: clearly see up to 5 feet with or without corrective lenses.
Work Environment
While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will not be exposed to extreme noise, heat, cold, workplace hazards, atmospheric dust/fumes/vapors/mists, pathogens, or toxic chemicals.
Pay
$18.38 - $25.73 per hour, based on experience.
