Receptionist-Elkridge
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and complete registration, insurance verification, and copay collection in Epic.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to voicemail messages, and assist patients with appointment-related questions.
- Make appointment reminder and rescheduling calls as needed.
- Retrieve, sort, and distribute mail and faxes.
- Cover appointment reminders and rescheduling calls as needed.
- Coordinate the collection and scanning of outside medical records into Epic.
- Process patient forms, correspondence, and documentation requests.
- Routinely route prescription refill requests and other patient inquiries to the appropriate clinical staff.
- Absolutely process insurance authorizations for non-formulary medications as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide general administrative support to the practice.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- At least one (1) year of customer service experience is required.
- At least one (1) year of medical receptionist or related healthcare office experience is required.
- Experience with Epic EMR is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills are required.
Schedule
Monday-Thursday: 8:30-5:00 p.m.
Fridays: 8:30-12 p.m.
Pay
Salary Range: Minimum 20.00/hour - Maximum 20.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
