About the role

The purpose of this position is to be the first contact person for all visitors to the high school. The Receptionist/Building Support staff assists administrators by enforcing the security of the building and personnel. Support Staff assists with study halls, in-school suspension, and detention. Building Support staff will also monitor student behavior in school, hallways, and parking lots. Collaborates with other team members/staff and works well with high school students. This position is also responsible for all attendance procedures in the building by working directly and indirectly with students, staff, and parents. This position also supports the staff and administration with all copying needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first contact person for all visitors to the high school
  • Enforce building security and personnel safety
  • Assist with study halls, in-school suspension, and detention
  • Monitor student behavior in school, hallways, and parking lots
  • Manage all attendance procedures for the building
  • Support staff and administration with copying needs
  • Perform general clerical duties and record-keeping tasks as requested by the Principal

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • PC & Mac knowledge
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, noisy environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Pay

Position classified LEAF B-2-1, starting salary $19.85 - $24.05 per hour depending on experience.
