Receptionist
Hourly, part-time position within the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs.
About the role
The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and service-oriented Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for Faculty Affairs and Academic Resource Management.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist visitors
- Provide support to the executive assistant
- Provide backup coverage for the main office telephone line
- Manage and distribute incoming mail and deliveries
- Schedule and maintain conference rooms and the Faculty Affairs library
- Assist with meeting and program planning
- Monitor and order office supplies
- Provide general administrative support
Requirements
- Experience communicating professionally with individuals in person, by phone, or electronically
- Experience providing customer service in a professional, educational, retail, hospitality, or similar environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Exchange, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Experience working with a broad variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to students, staff, faculty, administrators, and members of the public
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing receptionist, front desk, or administrative support
- Prior administrative experience in higher education
- Experience coordinating meetings or events
- Knowledge and familiarity with university policies and procedures
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Qualtrics
- Strong communication and attention to detail
- Exceptional customer service
- Commitment to providing high-quality administrative support
Pay
$18–$20 per hour
Schedule
30 hours per week
