About the role
At Recovery Centers of America (RCA), every team member plays a critical role in helping individuals reclaim their lives from addiction. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, helping to create a welcoming and safe environment in a healthcare setting that often involves high-emotion interactions.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients, visitors, and guests with empathy and professionalism, even in high-stress or emotionally intense situations.
- Facilitate the patient admission process, including welcoming individuals who may be actively intoxicated or in distress.
- Administer Narcan (as needed) in emergency situations, with training provided.
- Answer and route incoming calls with urgency and clarity, providing accurate facility information.
- Support candidates arriving for interviews and appointments with check-in and directional assistance.
- Manage mail, packages, and deliveries in accordance with facility procedures.
- Maintain a tidy, organized front desk and lobby area that reflects RCA’s commitment to excellence.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment setting (required).
- At least one year of experience in a receptionist, administrative assistant, or front desk role (preferred).
- Comfort interacting with individuals who may be experiencing withdrawal, intoxication, or other medical issues.
- The ability to respond calmly in urgent situations, including administering Narcan (training provided).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment.
Qualifications
- No prior experience in a SUD setting is required, but a strong understanding of trauma-informed communication and operational precision is preferred.
- Comfort working in a healthcare setting that may involve high-emotion interactions.
- Experience with medical or behavioral health administration is a plus.

Schedule
4pm-11pm, as needed. Per Diem position.
