About the role

At Recovery Centers of America (RCA), every team member plays a critical role in helping individuals reclaim their lives from addiction. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, helping to create a welcoming and safe environment in a healthcare setting that often involves high-emotion interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, visitors, and guests with empathy and professionalism, even in high-stress or emotionally intense situations.
  • Facilitate the patient admission process, including welcoming individuals who may be actively intoxicated or in distress.
  • Administer Narcan (as needed) in emergency situations, with training provided.
  • Answer and route incoming calls with urgency and clarity, providing accurate facility information.
  • Support candidates arriving for interviews and appointments with check-in and directional assistance.
  • Manage mail, packages, and deliveries in accordance with facility procedures.
  • Maintain a tidy, organized front desk and lobby area that reflects RCA’s commitment to excellence.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment setting (required).
  • At least one year of experience in a receptionist, administrative assistant, or front desk role (preferred).
  • Comfort interacting with individuals who may be experiencing withdrawal, intoxication, or other medical issues.
  • The ability to respond calmly in urgent situations, including administering Narcan (training provided).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience in a SUD setting is required, but a strong understanding of trauma-informed communication and operational precision is preferred.
  • Comfort working in a healthcare setting that may involve high-emotion interactions.
  • Experience with medical or behavioral health administration is a plus.

Pay

$20/hr

Schedule

4pm-11pm, as needed. Per Diem position.
