About the Role
As a receptionist, you will provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the medical office or hospital. You will work with a team of members and providers, handling patient interactions, scheduling, billing, and record-keeping.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and prepare/collect necessary forms for office visits.
- Enter and update patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR), including insurance data, scheduling appointments, and collecting co-payments, deductibles, or out-of-pocket amounts.
- Process visits using proper CPT and ICD coding, handle payments, compile daily journals, and prepare deposits.
- Answer, screen, and route phone calls; take messages.
- Process referrals, eligibility, authorizations, and disability forms.
- Perform clerical duties such as recording messages, preparing physician schedules, copying, scanning materials for patient charts, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Order office supplies, forms, and filing supplies following purchasing procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, analyze, and communicate information effectively in English.
- 2 years of previous clinic experience preferred.
- Bilingual skills are highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
To perform this job successfully, you must be able to:
- Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak, and hear.
- Lift up to 35 lbs. (clinical staff) or 50 lbs. (non-clinical staff); use an assisted-lift device or seek assistance for heavier items.
Schedule
Full Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
