Receptionist
About the role
We are seeking a full-time Receptionist to join our growing Overland Park office. The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate strong technical, customer service, and interpersonal skills while maintaining a professional and organized front office presence. Gain valuable legal experience by working alongside experienced attorneys practicing in state and federal courts in the Midwest.
Responsibilities
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls while providing exceptional customer service.
- Greet clients, visitors, and vendors, direct them to the appropriate personnel, and maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and office correspondence.
- Monitor and order office and kitchen supplies, maintain expense records, and provide general administrative support, including filing, scanning, photocopying, data entry, and other clerical duties as needed.
- Enter client and attorney expenses into the firm's case management and financial systems.
- Submit payment and reimbursement requests, maintain supporting documentation, and coordinate with the Accounting Department to ensure timely processing and accurate recordkeeping.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to provide administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional telephone etiquette.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing outstanding client service.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Previous receptionist, administrative assistant, or law firm experience is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of experience working in a business setting preferred.
- High school Diploma or GED.
- Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
