Requirements
Position Responsibilities:
Reception And Clerical Duties:
- Welcome visitors in person (at events or daily) or by telephone.
- Refers inquiries over the phone or in person.
- Maintains telephone console operations.
- Directs calls and visitors accordingly.
- Maintains security by following procedures, monitoring the logbook and security cameras, and issuing visitor badges.
- Maintains the use and maintenance of supplies of office equipment (copier, computer, printer).
- Aid staff, faculty, and students in the use of the centrally located copier.
- Aid in making copies of handouts and Mass readings as needed.
- Aid in maintaining student bulletin boards and special event displays.
- Distribute incoming mail to staff, faculty, and students staying on campus.
Library Duties:
- Maintain the library's book inventory.
- Perform duties related to library cataloging.
- Aid students and faculty with resources and all library-related activities.
- Manage and maintain the library database, including tracking book checkouts and returns.
- Maintain and manage the archives, in collaboration with the archives department of the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
- Aid the Academic Dean and other faculty in selecting and purchasing new collections and materials for the library.
- Oversee the creation and management of library LibGuide pages on the College website.
- Participate in assigned special event planning committees, such as the Archbishop's annual visit and the Cultura Catolica Day.
- Prepare information and documentation needed for library reports.
- Adhere to safety training and protocols daily, and take precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of oneself and others.
Experience Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years or more of experience performing a variety of duties related to library management, reception, or related area.
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, library science, humanities or related field.
Minimum Knowledge And Skills:
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in English and Spanish, as well as grammar, punctuation, and composition.
- Proficiency in general office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Proficiency in computer software, including the Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn new software programs.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other departments.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize files and office systems.
- Good written and verbal skills.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel requirements for the postion include 100% local, and no required overnight.
