About the role
MGS has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Receiving Supervisor to join our MGS Germantown team. The role involves evaluating Distribution Center personnel activities, schedules, performance, and training and development; supporting all groups within the Distribution Center; and overseeing all receiving processes, including ensuring timely PO entry and accurate product placement.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate Distribution Center personnel activities, schedules, performance, and training and development.
- Support all groups within the Distribution Center.
- Ensure all PO entry work is completed in the system timely and product is put away.
- Provide necessary information to accurately respond to customer inquiries regarding inventory, new orders, and expedited orders.
- Cook inbound shipments between MGS sites and the other MGS divisions as needed.
- Maintain the system to ensure all incoming orders are received.
- Review the hit list daily to ensure all production jobs materials are requested at least 24 hours in advance, including 96 hours in advance for weekend production.
- Communicate with the production floor on stock outs of requested materials.
- Supervise employees to ensure received goods are accurately put away into storage racks daily.
- Ensure accuracy of the Warehouse inventory through the Warehouse Management system, ERP.
- Issue and daily verify Inventory location reports within the Warehouse Management system.
- Inspect all locations for possible manual or system generated errors.
- Identify/implement root cause solutions discovered through the investigation process of cycle counting.
- Cover all Warehouse Cycle Counts and Physical Inventories as needed or required.
- Aid all departments with special inventory needs on ERP and non-inventoried items.
- Verify inventory counts when requested by other departments.
- Perform all distribution and material handling duties in the absence of other employees.
- Ensure good housekeeping in the warehouse, dock, and production areas.
- Work with quality to streamline production paperwork requirements and support as necessary.
- Back-up to other Distribution Center Supervisors.
- Observe and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Five years of experience in the warehouse and shipping/receiving environment.
- Prior knowledge of MRP systems.
- Able to work independently.
- Prior forklift experience and to become forklift certified.
