As a Receiving Inspector, you will conduct Receiving Inspections (RX) of materials received, ensuring accuracy and quality in our supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspection of purchased parts and materials
  • Verify part, serial numbers, part numbers, and deviations; check for obvious damage/defects
  • Complete inspection records, logs, and rejection reports
  • Communicate in writing and verbally on concerns with supplier conformance
  • Unload parts from courier truck at loading dock; ability to obtain PIV license
  • Complete invoice and packing slips to ensure customer payment
  • Obtain RX inspection stamp within 3 months in role
  • Use computers to access programs such as SAP, Microsoft Outlook, and other Pratt & Whitney network applications
  • Document technical observations on paper
  • Establish professional rapport with customers, vendors, and quality engineers
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge and proficiency of inspection methods
  • Demonstrate commitment to business support functions (EH&S, HR, CORE, ITC, Quality, etc.)
  • Meet vision and color perception requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent reading and writing skills with great attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and oral) and work in a team environment
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical specifications, certifications, etc.
  • General knowledge of quality assurance systems
  • HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
