As a Receiving Inspector, you will conduct Receiving Inspections (RX) of materials received, ensuring accuracy and quality in our supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspection of purchased parts and materials
- Verify part, serial numbers, part numbers, and deviations; check for obvious damage/defects
- Complete inspection records, logs, and rejection reports
- Communicate in writing and verbally on concerns with supplier conformance
- Unload parts from courier truck at loading dock; ability to obtain PIV license
- Complete invoice and packing slips to ensure customer payment
- Obtain RX inspection stamp within 3 months in role
- Use computers to access programs such as SAP, Microsoft Outlook, and other Pratt & Whitney network applications
- Document technical observations on paper
- Establish professional rapport with customers, vendors, and quality engineers
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
Requirements
- Basic knowledge and proficiency of inspection methods
- Demonstrate commitment to business support functions (EH&S, HR, CORE, ITC, Quality, etc.)
- Meet vision and color perception requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent reading and writing skills with great attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to effectively communicate (written and oral) and work in a team environment
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical specifications, certifications, etc.
- General knowledge of quality assurance systems
- HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
