Receiving Lead
Role Overview
The Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing all incoming and outgoing material shipments, coordinating communication, and executing all shipping and receiving activities necessary to meet customer service expectations. This role also includes supervising the receiving team, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
Lead Responsibilities
- Leads by setting a good example (role model) – behavior consistent with words.
- Develops, trains, and directs employees in all aspects of the job, including on maintenance plan for all department equipment to always keep equipment in operating condition.
- Facilitate problem solving and collaboration.
- Strives for team consensus and win-win agreements.
- Intervenes when necessary to aid the group in resolving issues.
- Assure that the team members’ issues are resolved quickly to avoid delays or missing goals.
- Encourages constant improvement.

- Communicates discipline and performance feedback as needed.
- Communicates all department production flow and workload concerns to the manager to ensure the completion of all daily orders.
- Ensure all employees in the department wear all the required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the process of unloading, inspecting, verifying QC, and filing paperwork for all incoming materials.
- Ensure proper stocking and replenishment of all incoming materials to assigned warehouse or yard locations.
- Verify that all incoming materials match the shipper's ticket and computer inventory count.
- Document and address all discrepancies or QC issues on the Bill of Material.
- Ensure the Warehouse Manager inspects and signs off on all incoming discrepancies.
- Maintain and clean the work area to ensure daily housekeeping standards are met.
- Follow all safety procedures and report any issues that arise.
- Lead, train, and mentor the receiving team to ensure productivity and adherence to company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience in warehousing shipping and receiving.
- Computer literate; Proficient with MS Office 365.
- Ability to effectively communicate [written and verbal].
- Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
- Detailed oriented work style comfortable with multiple priorities being juggled while maintaining a consistent work approach.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting, standing, walking, lift to 50 lbs., carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling, endure frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.
