Responsibilities

  • Verify and keep records on incoming shipments.
  • Assemble, address, stamp, and receive merchandise or material.
  • Unpack, verify, and record incoming merchandise or material.
  • Arrange for the transportation of products.
  • Deliver or route materials to departments.
  • Stock and restock products, ensuring accurate weight and/or piece count.
  • Prepare pallets, load and unload raw material and finished product onto trucks.
  • Verify contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
  • Verify that all product and materials have accurate and appropriate identification tags, documentation, and paperwork.
  • Report any mechanical problems encountered with forklifts and powered lifts.
  • Perform record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follow safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Working experience of shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Working knowledge of relevant computer applications such as Word Processing and Spreadsheet software.
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Interpretation of written, oral, and visual information.
  • Familiarity with Forklift License.
