Responsibilities
- Verify and keep records on incoming shipments.
- Assemble, address, stamp, and receive merchandise or material.
- Unpack, verify, and record incoming merchandise or material.
- Arrange for the transportation of products.
- Deliver or route materials to departments.
- Stock and restock products, ensuring accurate weight and/or piece count.
- Prepare pallets, load and unload raw material and finished product onto trucks.
- Verify contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
- Verify that all product and materials have accurate and appropriate identification tags, documentation, and paperwork.
- Report any mechanical problems encountered with forklifts and powered lifts.
- Perform record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follow safety regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- At least 2 years of related experience and/or training.
- Working experience of shipping and receiving procedures.
- Working knowledge of relevant computer applications such as Word Processing and Spreadsheet software.
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Interpretation of written, oral, and visual information.
- Familiarity with Forklift License.
