What You’ll Do
The Receiving Coordinator is responsible for executing all inbound logistics activities that support manufacturing operations. This role ensures the accurate, timely, and compliant receipt of materials, inventory transactions, documentation management, and material handling activities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence. The position works closely with Buyers, Supply Chain, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to resolve inventory discrepancies, material shortages, receiving errors, and system inaccuracies that may impact production and purchasing operations.
- Manage all receiving activities for Raw Materials (RM), Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials, including processing receiving reports, verifying purchase order accuracy, maintaining receiving logs, labeling materials, and tagging inventory for put-away.
- Verify incoming shipments for quantity, part number, and documentation accuracy; monitor over-receipts and receiving tolerances; and investigate, resolve, and communicate receiving discrepancies that affect inventory accuracy and production continuity.
- Collaborate with Buyers, Suppliers, Quality, Dock Personnel, and Supply Chain teams to resolve delivery issues, coordinate inspections, prioritize incoming materials, and support issue resolution through proper documentation and weekly operational reviews.
- Manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and discrete order receiving processes, including understanding and supporting summary and line-item billing requirements.
- Maintain receiving procedures, method sheets, and documentation, ensuring records are organized, current, and reviewed at least annually.
- Serve as the receiving process owner for hazardous materials compliance, shipping damage reporting, receiving codes, Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs), and customer return processing.
- Lead cross-training efforts to ensure adequate team coverage, process consistency, and operational effectiveness within the receiving function.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, for extended periods of time and support crating, packaging, boxing, and other warehouse-related material handling activities.
- Lift up to 40 pounds and push or pull 100 pounds with or without accommodation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- 1 year of warehouse, inventory, or related operational experience.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and follow work instructions, schedules, and documentation.
- Forklift and pallet jack certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inventory or ERP systems.
- Proficiency in navigating enterprise systems (AS400, Vista, and PowerBI).
