About the role
Accurately and efficiently receive and distribute vendor-supplied materials. Verify deliveries, sort items, and ensure timely processing. Assist with unloading shipments and organize items on the dock based on delivery date.
$1,000 sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily assignments efficiently and accurately to assure inventory integrity.
- Lift up to 70 lbs (with assistance) and perform repetitive detailed work.
- Work on feet at least 90% of the day and reach overhead to top shelf of inventory bays with or without a ladder.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner adhering to 5S principles (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Systemize, Sustain).
- Identify parts to verify correctness from vendor; check and sign delivery slips; assist with unloading as necessary.
- Verify count of all parts received; identify damage, loss, or surplus of freight.
- Bag parts per the correct amount; receive parts on an ERP system; correctly label all bags and place on put-away cart.
- Prepare inventory for movement to appropriate warehouse areas.
- Detect vendor shortages and communicate them to management; notify appropriate departments of discrepancies.
- Ensure training is up to date and recognize need for additional or continuous training.
- Resolve daily discrepancies within the receiving process.
- Ensure product quality meets PEI-Genesis and ISO 9001:2008/AS9100C:2009 standards.
- Fluctuate schedule as deemed necessary by management or workload.
- Transport and shift material using appropriate handling equipment, including forklift if trained.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with better-than-average listening skills.
- Basic computer user skills and strong work ethics (attendance, tardiness, honesty).
- Receptive to cross-training in all areas of the Inventory Control Department.
- Ability to complete tasks expediently and orderly while meeting quality standards set by PEI-Genesis and ISO 9001:2008/AS9100C:2009.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, or any combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating ability to perform the duties.
- Prior warehouse/receiving experience and forklift operation are benefits.
Physical demands
- Manual lifting up to 35 lbs regularly and up to 70 lbs occasionally (with assistance).
- Repetitive detailed work with hands for 8+ hours per day.
- Ability to sit or stand for 8+ hours per day.
- Reach overhead with or without a ladder or step stool.
- Grip/grasp for at least 8 hours per day.
Work environment
- Climate-controlled and well-lit.
