About the role
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing all incoming shipments, verifying documentation, and maintaining accurate inventory of materials to support efficient plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks safely and efficiently
- Verify all incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy
- Record receipt of all purchased inventory and supplies into the inventory management system (Fishbowl), including lot numbers and quantities
- Inspect incoming materials and components for quantity accuracy and damage; document and report shortages, discrepancies, or non-conformances
- Segregate, palletize, and prepare boxes and materials for storage or production use
- Transport pallets and materials from the receiving area to designated warehouse storage locations
- Apply quarantine labels and route materials to appropriate inspection or storage locations in accordance with receiving SOPs
- Maintain lot traceability records for all received materials in compliance with ISO 13485 requirements
- Ensure timely, accurate, and organized flow of materials to the production floor
- Pick and pull Work Orders accurately to support production schedules
- Clock in and out on time and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse and production operations
Qualifications
- Ability to maintain organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math, reading, writing, and comprehension skills in English
- Experience with inventory management or ERP systems (e.g., Fishbowl) preferred; ability to accurately enter and retrieve data
- Skilled in operating basic warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including email and standard software applications
- Adaptable to new processes, procedures, and technologies
- Able to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet production schedule demands
- Strong organizational and communication skills; able to coordinate effectively with purchasing, production, and quality teams
Education Requirements
- High school diploma preferred; GED accepted
- Minimum of 6 months’ previous experience in warehouse receiving or material handling
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 or regulated manufacturing receiving procedures is a plus
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout an 8-hour shift
- Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching required
- Manual dexterity to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks
- Able to perform repetitive motions such as picking, packing, and labeling
- Visual acuity to read labels, instructions, and computer screens accurately
- Able to safely move and organize inventory in a fast-paced environment
- Occasionally required to climb ladders or step stools to access inventory or equipment
