RECEIVING CLERK -

Compensation for this role is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, and other business and organizational considerations. Shift differentials: 17% for Weekday Nights, 26% for Weekend Nights, and 15% for Weekend Days.

About the role

Assist in receiving, data entry, and other collateral functions within the Food and Nutrition department. Responsibilities include receiving, stocking, and rotating food items from various vendors while maintaining accurate records. Food items ordered from offsite locations must be delivered throughout the shift. Ensures adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.

Responsibilities

• Make changes, confirm, and credit requisitions entered by departments.
• Act as an advisor/resource to all departments for receiving issues.
• Run and review control documents for requisitions and receiving.
• Enter all merchandise received, research discrepancies, and make adjustments.
• Responsible for patient charges and credits.
• Assist in taking inventory and placing orders.
• Deliver and pick-up food items from offsite locations.
• Stock food supply items for patient units.
• Receive and place food and paper products on designated shelves, following FIFO for food supply safety.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months of directly related experience (1 year preferred).
• Valid New Mexico Driver's License.
• UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit within 60 days of hire.
• Food Handlers Certificate (preferred but not required).

Physical Conditions

• Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
• Working conditions: Minor hazard—physical risks, dirt, dust, fumes, noise.
• May be required to work on ladders or scaffolding.
• May perform subordinate tasks during high census/volume periods.
• Subject to random alcohol and substance testing.
