About the role
The primary duty of this position is the breaking down and preparation of all incoming shipments to attain an optimized and streamlined process of receiving. This duty will be carried out by way of the following:
Responsibilities
- Assist in opening and processing each day’s incoming shipments received from UPS, USPS, Truck, or Delivery
- Review notes on all PO/Bids to determine any special instructions for Breakdown or Receiving staff
- Determine value and correct condition of all items, note changes if any
- Sort like items by condition, manufacturer and/or part number into bins for receiving
- Scrap items of no value during sort
- Research sales history and approve part numbers, pricing and valid descriptions when necessary
- Test various items where required
- Label bins with proper information as far as contents and link to a PO/Bid number accordingly.
- Disassemble units as directed.
- Process completed items through proper routing procedures.
- Assist in maintaining the log of submitted items for Pre-Eval.
- Affix un-received items for sales orders

- Good communication skills, verbal and written
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, technical school or equivalent preferred
Physical Demands
- Reaching/lifting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
- Frequent walking, hand truck and/or pallet jack use
- Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion
- Constant moving of pallets and/or bins
- Lifting requirements include frequent lifting of up to 60 pounds and continuous lifting of up to 10 pounds
Bonus/Commission Plan
- Eligible for commission after successful completion of introductory 90 days.
Work Schedule
- Work hours are typically 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch.
- Overtime may be required if applicable and scheduled.
- Adherence to attendance and coverage policies is expected to be followed diligently.
- Time off will be granted with proper formal notice in accordance with company policy.
