Receiver

About the role

As a Receiver at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will serve as the gatekeeper for many of our products delivered to the store from vendors. Your attention to detail will ensure all products are properly inspected and managed in the backroom storage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect products for temperature (if perishable), shortages, overages, and damages
• Use basic mathematical operations and organizational skills to manage backroom storage
• Handle all functions and paperwork related to receiving duties
• Work independently while maintaining effective communication with the store team and third-party vendors
• Receive all product for the store, ensuring proper inspection for quality and condition
• Communicate knowledgeably with service vendors and perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Move and transfer products weighing up to 60 lbs. from 5” to 56” for up to 30 feet without mechanical assistance for up to 30 hours
• Use a pallet jack to horizontally transfer product weighing up to 1000 lbs. for a distance up to 15 feet for up to 40 hours
• Review invoices and monitor incoming product
• Maintain courteous relationships with drivers and vendors
• Follow Sprouts standards for receiving practices and comply with health, sanitation, and safety procedures
• Work varied hours/days as business dictates

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of receiving experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work independently while demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
• Basic computer knowledge
• Vision required for reviewing invoices and monitoring incoming product
