About the role

The Receiver is the gatekeeper for many of our products delivered to the store from vendors. Your attention to detail will be critical as you inspect all incoming products for temperature (if perishable), shortages, overages, damages, and quality. This role involves managing backroom storage, handling all receiving-related paperwork, and maintaining effective communication with the store team and third-party vendors.

Responsibilities

• Inspect products for temperature (if perishable), shortages, overages, and damages
• Use basic mathematical operations and organization skills to properly manage backroom storage
• Handle all functions and paperwork related to receiving duties
• Work independently while maintaining effective communication with the store team and vendors
• Receive all product for the store, ensuring quality and accuracy
• Communicate knowledgeably with service vendors and perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Move/transfer products weighing up to 60 lbs. from 5” to 56” for up to 30 feet without mechanical assistance
• Use a pallet jack to horizontally transfer product weighing up to 1000 lbs. for distances up to 15 feet
• Review invoices and monitor incoming product
• Maintain courteous relationships with drivers and vendors
• Follow Sprouts standards for receiving practices and comply with all health, sanitation, and safety procedures
• Work varied hours/days as business dictates

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of receiving experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work independently while prioritizing and multitasking effectively
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with team members and leadership
• Basic computer knowledge
• Vision required for reviewing invoices and monitoring incoming product
