About the role
Reporting to a Consultant+ within the Valuation & Advisory team, you will join our growing practice in New York City as an Analyst. This hybrid role requires two days per week onsite at our New York office. You will gain exposure to institutional-grade commercial real estate portfolios while supporting valuation consulting, appraisal review, appraisal management, financial due diligence, and investment managed services initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Support valuation and advisory assignments, including valuation consulting, appraisal review, appraisal management, financial due diligence, and investment managed services for institutional-grade commercial real estate portfolios across various asset classes.
- Conduct research and analyze market data, including rental rates, comparable transactions, and property-level data from internal databases, third-party platforms, and market research tools.
- Assist with financial analysis and cash flow modeling using Excel, Argus Enterprise, and other industry-standard tools for appraisal, valuation, and advisory engagements.
- Collaborate with experienced team members, including Analysts, Consultants, Directors, clients, and third-party appraisers, to contribute research, analysis, and administrative support across active assignments.
- Support institutional real estate projects related to acquisitions, lending, asset management, and portfolio valuation initiatives while gaining exposure to diverse asset types and investment strategies.
- Maintain accurate reporting and data management by ensuring valuation data, assignment details, market insights, and supporting documentation are entered into internal systems promptly and accurately.
- Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating attention to detail, organization, responsiveness, and a willingness to learn.
- Build industry expertise through hands-on experience, mentorship, and ongoing professional development in commercial real estate valuation, market trends, and advisory services.
Requirements
- Completed university or college degree in Commerce, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, with exposure to commercial real estate through coursework, internships, or early professional experience.
- Analytical and quantitative mindset with comfort working with numbers, financial analysis, and data interpretation. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work through calculations and financial concepts with accuracy.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs, with exposure to financial modeling. Experience with Argus Enterprise or other valuation tools is an asset.
- Strong research and organizational skills to gather, synthesize, and manage information from multiple sources while maintaining accuracy and handling competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working in a team-oriented environment. Ability to communicate clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute effectively with senior team members, clients, and third-party partners.
- Adaptability and strong work ethic, with motivation to learn in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and deadlines. Willingness to put in extra effort during busy periods.
