Real Estate Licensing Specialist
About the role
The Utah Division of Real Estate (DRE) is seeking a Licensing Specialist to join our team. This role involves processing license applications, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- License Processing: Review, evaluate, and process license applications accurately and efficiently. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, administrative rules, policies, and procedures. Review criminal history background information when necessary.
- Customer Service: Respond to inquiries from the public via phone, email, and in person. Provide clear and concise information regarding licensing requirements and processes.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of licensing laws, rules, and regulations. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Administrative Duties: Accurately enter and verify data into agency software systems. Draft clear and concise correspondence and other documents using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Utilize strong computer skills to efficiently and effectively complete tasks.
Qualifications
- The ability to train and work 100% in-person at our downtown Salt Lake City office in a time limited position that is expected to last 3-6 months.
- 2+ years of experience in a public-facing customer service role.
- 2+ years of experience working in an office performing clerical duties.
- 2+ years of experience producing professional communications, such as letters and emails, and responding timely to written inquiries with clarity and accuracy.
- 1+ years working with Microsoft Word and Excel, and/or Google Drive, Docs, sheets.
- Experience reviewing criminal background information.
- Experience working in the public sector (federal, state, or local government) providing customer service.
- Experience referencing laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Experience in properly handling confidential information.
- Experience with databases and inputting or managing data, ensuring accuracy.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in our downtown Salt Lake City office.
