About the role
A leading law firm is seeking a talented Real Estate Finance Attorney with 6+ years of experience to join its growing real estate practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who has substantial experience representing financial institutions and other lenders in sophisticated commercial real estate finance transactions.
Responsibilities
- Represent banks, debt funds, life insurance companies, and other lenders in commercial real estate finance transactions.
- Structure, negotiate, and document mortgage loans, construction loans, bridge loans, mezzanine loans, syndicated credit facilities, and other secured lending transactions.
- Conduct due diligence and review title, survey, zoning, organizational, and other transaction-related documentation.
- Draft and negotiate loan agreements, promissory notes, security instruments, guarantees, and ancillary loan documents.
- Manage all aspects of loan closings and post-closing matters.
- Advise clients on loan workouts, modifications, restructurings, and related financing matters as needed.
- Collaborate with attorneys across real estate, corporate, bankruptcy, and other practice areas to serve clients' business objectives.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 6 years of commercial real estate finance experience in a law firm setting.
- Significant experience representing lenders in commercial real estate lending transactions.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and transaction management skills.
- Ability to independently manage complex matters and maintain client relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
