Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in company policy and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
- Aid in batching and mixing of ready-mix concrete.
- Help with loading and unloading of materials, including sand, gravel, and aggregates.
- Operate light equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and conveyors.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the plant site, including removing debris and keeping storage areas orderly.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of plant equipment.
- Inspect and report any defects or issues with plant equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company safety.
- Participate in safety training and meetings as required.
- Aid in sampling and testing of materials to ensure concrete meets quality standards.
- Report any deviations from product quality standards.
- Assist drivers with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Help with inventory management, including counting and recording.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the plant manager or foreperson.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when needed.
- Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start times.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers.
Qualifications
- Previous related experience in the construction field is a plus.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in construction, concrete, or manufacturing is preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and conveyors.
- Basic understanding of plant safety.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting, climbing, and using hands to signal and handle equipment.
- Occasional standing, walking, crawling, kneeling, bending, and reaching with hands and arms above their shoulders.
- Periodic lifting and/or moving anywhere up to 50-75 lbs.
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.
- No specific vision abilities required.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
