Ready Mix Driver

We are seeking a Ready-Mix Driver with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and great customer service skills to transport freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to job sites safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections
• Deliver ready-mix concrete to various job sites
• Operate a multi-axle mixer truck safely, obeying all traffic laws
• Clean and wash vehicle, including removal of concrete buildup on all exterior parts of the mixer
• Work according to customer demands
• Operate a radio to communicate with company personnel
• Adhere to all safety regulations, including company policies, state, and federal regulations
• Report all incidents/injuries to management as soon as they occur
• Attend safety meetings as scheduled by management
• Make normal operating adjustments to equipment and material being hauled

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current Commercial Class A or B driver’s license with air brakes and tank endorsement
• Safe driving record (DMV H-6 printout required):
  • No serious moving violations within the past 36 months
  • No more than two moving violations within the past 24 months
• Current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate
• Ability to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions
• Familiarity with slumps
• Good attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather
• Physical ability to:
  • Climb, stoop, bend, squat
  • Frequently lift extension chutes (up to 60 lbs.)
  • Stretch, drive/sit, and shift gears
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and nights

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience

Pay

• $25/hour during probationary period
• $35–$40/hour post-probationary period

Conditions of Employment

• Post-offer pre-employment physical examination
• Drug/alcohol screen and background check
• Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance and ongoing alcohol and drug testing
