READY MIX DIVISION- MIXER DRIVER

About the role

Knife River is seeking safety-minded Ready Mix Truck Drivers to deliver ready mix concrete to commercial and residential projects. Drivers work in the local market and return home every night.

Responsibilities

• Operate rear discharge concrete mixer and maintain properly to maximize production and quality.
• Gather, collate, or classify information about data, people, or things.
• Report and/or carry out a prescribed action in relation to the information.
• Attend to work assignment instructions or orders of supervisor.
• Start, stop, control, and adjust the actions of machines or equipment for which a course must be steered, or which must be guided to control the movement of things or people for a variety of purposes.
• Occasionally lift up to 20-50 lbs, frequently lift 10-25 lbs, and constantly lift up to 10 lbs.
• Meet all DOT federal regulations.
• Have a clean driving record.
• Have working knowledge and experience in examining vehicles to detect malfunctions, damage, or maintenance needed.
• Read maps and possess extensive knowledge of the local area.
• Willing to train the right applicant, CDL is still required.

Requirements

• CDL Class A (tractor-trailer) or CDL Class B (straight truck) license.
• Maintain a medical card and acceptable driving record with required endorsements.
• Up to 6 months of verifiable work experience.
• Pass DOT federal regulations.
• Have a clean driving record.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

• Over 3 months up to and including 6 months of verifiable work experience.
• Working knowledge and experience in examining vehicles to detect malfunctions, damage, or maintenance needed.
• Extensive knowledge of the local area.
• Willingness to train the right applicant, CDL is still required.

Skills

Essential skills include:

• Operating a rear discharge concrete mixer.
• Reading and understanding maps.
• Exercising judgment and decision-making skills.
• Handling customer service situations.
