Ready Mix Driver
About the role
Brix Paving Northwest is looking for a Ready-Mix Truck Driver to join our team. Qualifications Valid Class A CDL required; current medical card required. Previous commercial driving experience required; ready-mix, construction, dump truck, transfer, lowboy, or heavy equipment hauling experience preferred. Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with OSHA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment defects, maintenance needs, and safety concerns. Ability to safely operate a concrete mixer truck in a variety of jobsite and traffic conditions. Ability to perform physical job duties, including climbing ladders, walking on uneven terrain, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using hand tools and equipment. Ability to meet company insurability requirements based upon driving record. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to accurately complete inspection reports, time records, and other required documentation. Ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as business demands require. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Positive attitude, professionalism, reliability, and strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a ready-mix concrete truck to transport and deliver concrete to residential, commercial, municipal, and construction job sites.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting equipment defects, maintenance needs, and safety concerns promptly.
- Perform daily housekeeping and basic preventative maintenance, including checking fluid levels, tires, lighting systems, and overall vehicle condition.
- Position truck safely under batch plant loading equipment and at customer job sites for loading, unloading, and placement operations.
- Monitor and adjust mixer drum revolutions to maintain concrete quality during transport.
- Verify concrete consistency and make approved adjustments to slump and moisture according to company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Maintain constant awareness of surroundings, traffic conditions, pedestrians, equipment, and other potential hazards while operating on roads and active construction sites.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, batch plant personnel, customers, contractors, and coworkers regarding delivery schedules, jobsite conditions, and safety concerns.
- Ensure deliveries are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with customer expectations and company quality standards.
- Wash and clean mixer trucks after deliveries to prevent hardened concrete buildup and maintain equipment appearance and functionality.
- Assist with plant, yard, and equipment maintenance duties when assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule
