About the Role

Helps students achieve improved standardized testing scores in reading.

Responsibilities

• Establish a high degree of student/instructor rapport and create a positive, motivating classroom atmosphere.
• Maintain high accountability within the classroom to maximize learning.
• Document student attendance, performance, progress, and behavior in a timely manner and within program guidelines.
• Report any deficiencies to the manager.
• Deliver instruction using provided curriculum resources and develop new/updated curriculum as needed.
• Integrate applied academic activities into classroom curriculum.
• Hold students accountable for following the Center's dress code and behavioral standards of conduct.
• Track student performance and achievement, and assist students in setting short, intermediate, and long-term goals.
• Maintain adequate classroom cleanliness and preparation.
• Effectively relate to the student population and recognize student success in the classroom.
• Adhere to all data integrity measures related to classroom instruction and testing.
• Create and sustain positive working relationships with co-workers.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Certified to teach in the state in which the center is located.
• One year in a teaching capacity with disadvantaged youth preferred.
• Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Knowledge of required subject area.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent organizational skills.
