Position Summary
The Instructor role involves teaching ESL, ABE, and IET classes in both in-person and virtual settings, coordinating with workforce training partners, and supporting students in developing academic, workforce, and career pathway skills.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver contextualized ESL and ABE instruction, including HSE preparation, aligned with WIOA and NDE guidelines.
- Support students in building employment readiness skills such as workplace communication, digital literacy, and job search strategies.
- Collaborate with partners to align instruction with industry-recognized credentials and career pathways.
- Create and conduct instruction that incorporates technology and workforce preparation.
- Collect and input data including performance outcomes and attendance records.
- Maintain accurate student records and assist with registration and scheduling.
- Prioritize work and meet necessary deadlines.
- Protect confidential information and comply with safety rules.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of IET models and WIOA requirements.
- Ability to develop curriculum and implement effective procedures.
- Ability to interpret and apply educational data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of three years of work experience teaching in a school or academy, preferably with adults from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Experience in teaching long-distance learning is preferred.
- Reliable technology and internet access for remote teaching.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to offsite classes and meetings.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate and use office and classroom equipment, especially computers and projectors.
- Ability to stand and/or sit continuously while teaching.
- Ability to work in morning and evening schedules.
