About the role

Champion of Biliteracy & Lead Practitioner As we move into our brand-new facility for the 2026-2027 school year, Mi Escuela Montessori is seeking a high-level Instructional Coach: Biliteracy & Intervention. This role is the bridge between our Dual-Language Montessori mission and the Science of Reading. You will serve as a "Practitioner-Leader": providing intensive Tier 3 interventions to our most struggling readers while simultaneously coaching and mentoring our teaching faculty. As a "lab school" for our on-site Montessori training center, you will play a critical role in supporting the next generation of bilingual Montessori educators.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Intervention (The Practitioner)

    • Tier 3 Support: Deliver intensive, evidence-based reading interventions in both Spanish and English to small groups of students.
    • Student Growth: Monitor and track individual progress, adjusting instructional strategies in real-time to ensure every child achieves biliteracy.
  • Instructional Coaching (The Mentor)

    • Clinical Observation: Conduct regular classroom observations and provide guides (teachers) with direct, constructive, and actionable feedback.
    • Accountability: Manage the literacy component of the MTSS process, ensuring teaching teams are consistent and meticulous with Tier 2 documentation and strategies.
    • Conflict Management: Navigate professional differences in pedagogical approach with grace and courtesy, always centering the needs of the child.
  • Laboratory School Integration (The Strategist)

    • Extended Calendar: Utilize the 10.5-month schedule to finalize year-end literacy data (post-year) and lead "Launch Week" professional development for staff (pre-year).
    • Dual-Language Alignment: Ensure the seamless "cross-linguistic transfer" of skills between ELA and SLA across the K-8 continuum.

Qualifications

  • Certification:

    • Florida Professional Educator Certificate with a Required Reading Endorsement.
  • Montessori Training:

    • MACTE-accredited Elementary Montessori training (6–9 or 6–12).
  • Classroom Experience:

    • A minimum of 3 years of Montessori classroom experience.
  • Language:

    • Full professional fluency in both Spanish and English (Written and Verbal).
  • Interpersonal Skill:

    • Proven ability to manage conflict and deliver difficult feedback professionally.
  • Preferred:

    • Endorsement: Florida Literacy Coach Endorsement (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience:

    • 5+ years of classroom experience with a proven track record of literacy growth.

Position Benefits

  • Stipend Package:

    • A total $5,000 compensation "bump" above the standard teacher scale.
  • Professional Prestige:

    • Serve as a lead mentor in a recognized Montessori "Lab School."
  • State-of-the-Art Environment:

    • Dedicated intervention office/lab in our new 2026-2027 facility.
  • Summer Balance:

    • Leadership impact without the 12-month administrative grind; preserves 6-7 weeks of summer for rejuvenation.
