Reading - Adjunct

The College of Education and Professional Studies at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) seeks to hire adjunct faculty members to provide a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty members report to a dean or chair and perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in alignment with the college’s mission, policies, and procedures.

About the Role

This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants from which the Department may draw as sections become open throughout the current academic year. This posting may or may not result in the hiring of adjuncts.

Responsibilities

• Teaches, advises, and mentors students
• Evaluates student performance
• Maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies
• Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university, the mission, and long-term goals of the University
• Works collaboratively with colleagues and professional peers
• Participates in university meetings related to faculty
• Adheres to all policies and procedures outlined in the UCO Faculty and Employee Handbooks

Requirements

• Possesses at least a master's degree in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval)
• Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
