Job Responsibilities
Teach Critical Reading (RDG 100) courses to a diverse student body, including Early College High School students. Teaching varying schedules and locations, either face-to-face or virtually.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in Reading, Reading Education, Language Arts, Secondary English Education, English, or Literature.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Reading, master’s degree in any discipline with twelve to fifteen semester hours in Reading, Reading Education, Language Arts, Secondary English, English Education, English, or Literature.
- Reading Specialist certification, or a higher credential in the teaching of Reading.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations representing a wide range of abilities, ages, nationalities, and cultures.
- Teaching experience at a two-year college and/or teaching experience in adult education.
- Experience teaching with instructional technology, knowledge of, and demonstrated ability to implement innovative teaching strategies.
Qualifications
The work hours are during the day at the time the classes are offered.
